It took me a long time to think of a time where someone tried to purposefully plott against me, so i decided to choose a problem that I faced during my Junior year of highschool. It all started when I started to hang out with a group of people that weren't such a good influence to me, I admit, but I had fun hanging out with them either way. I did some things not too bad but would be considered bad for my mother. I started to drift away from my previous friends to these new people and my previous friends would tell my mother exactly what I did. Anyone would say that they did it because they cared about me and wanted the best for me but they didnt do it in that way, their forms of care transformed into jealosy and anger towards me. I decided to stop seeing those people that were a bad influence and started to be with my old friends but somehow their friendship wasn't the same and I noticed them plotting against me by calling my mom behind my back to secretly feed her with lies of my continuing friendship with those I wasn't supposed to. I later found out what was going on and ended up never trusting my "friends" again. At that moment I felt betrayed and felt really bad becuase i had lost my mom's trust and even when I was telling the truth I still knew deep down that she'd never beleive me again. Now I try my best to ignore those bad influences that are still all around me and I havnt yet forgave my friends for what they had done.
wow okay thinking of a time when someone was plotting against me took some time of reaching way back into my past. its kind of sad but their was a moment that someone was plotting against me. it all began when i was 13 and was sort of a bully and throw a persons lunch in thier face.i guess the plotting was well deserved.so ever since that moment swierd stuff would happen like my bookbag dissapearing, my sneakers also began to go missing always showing up on top of a llight fixture,.thier was also missings pens and pencils missing matbe it was me just being paranoid. After those suppose incidents i started blameing the kid whose lunch was thrown into his face. he denied it aqs i predicted he would, but turns out he was a bigger bully then me he grabs me after school with his friends and admits it was him, so naturaly i punch him in the face in front of his friends. his friends then start luanching themselves into me like a pack of wild animals trying to fend them off kick punch and headbutt. as you can see i was a kid w2ho coulnt control his anger. you can say i was a doer at that time in my life. long story short boy was punished and i had a couple scrapes and bruises.
You should all go and watch Veronica Mars. She got stabbed in the back or snubbed more accurately, from her entire clique of friends after the murder of her best friend. She had to solve the murder and wound up seeing her old and new friends in a different light. What do you think this has to do with Hamlet? Who is doing the plotting? Are there many people involved? Are there multiple plots? How does this contribute to the rising action of the play?
Ok it also took me a while to think of a time when I discovered someone was plotting against me. It happened it my junior year and whenever I think about it now, I laugh because I ask myself how could I have cared so much about such a stupid situation. I'll be discreet about it because it's a personal thing. Some other people were out to destroy what I had and desperate for it as well. Point is, I lied to my dad, but most of all I lied to myself and I feel terrible about it. I regret the matter entirely, even up to this day. The outcome of the situation was bad, no good parts at all but then again that's life. I've learned from it and I promised myself that never again would I be that way.
Frank walked the halls of Roland Hayes Middle school with his first love by his side. Some called it puppy love but at the time Frank was convinced that it was real. Frank looked into her eyes as he spoke of the beauty that she was. While he spoke, little did he know that there was one jealous of his love. One who desired the love that was not his own but that was in the hands of a rival. This ones name was Axel. Axel never liked Frank, even at first sight. Axel spent his days at the middle school cutting class and failing while Frank passed all of his classes as he pranced around with his love. One beautiful summer morning as Frank and his love walked to the classroom Axel smacked him upside the head. Though Frank knew it was him, he dared not leave his love to quarrel with the foe.He kept on his way, and leaving his love at the door of her class he turned around to find the evil Axel in front of him accompanied by one of his evil minions,Derek the Horrible. Frank threatened by them both and up against the wall had no time to think. He quickly through his cloak over both the fiends and ran for his life. Young Frank ran as he had never done. Both chased after him but could not catch him. Frank hid as he watched the fiends pass him bye in search of him. Suddenly Frank saw his love crying, screaming, and running after the boys. Her mind thought of stopping but her heart was with her love. Frank grasped her in his arms and both cried together, for the enemy tried to break them apart but their love was too strong to be broken. ---------------------------------- Too bad, that love was puppy love, and did not last a lifetime.
I love that Frank is writing from the 3rd person pov, makes it really feel like a story! Ah, puppy love. I recently am reunited with my high school boyfriend (thanks to facebook) and I can relate to the tale of how real it all seemed then!
It was my second year in middle school and already I wasn’t like by many of the other students. But I remember there was this one boy in my class, I can’t remember his name because I didn’t care about him. But he was mad at the fact that I was always a good student and my grades were higher than his. So along with his friends they tried to mess me up in school, by trying to get me in trouble and they were planning to get me suspended. So he tried to have a fight with me for no apparent reason, and unfortunately I had 2 get myself involved in the fight, but the good news is that I didn’t get suspended. So I didn’t miss any school time and my schools were still relatively good. I felt really said like a woos, because I felt that is this is the type of things that happen to good people or people that try to be the best and become something in their lives. But come to think of it, no matter how hard you try, it seems that there will always be someone that will try to bring you down. But overall everything turned out good and things didn’t work out as the enemy I’m going to call them, turned out.

Well there’s actually one occasion where I was plotted against for major sabotage. The incident happened when I was 7 years old in the second grade. I use to know this girl named Elizabeth and one day while we were outside in the playground during recess, we played tag and so we had lots of fun running back and forth chasing after each other. Finally when the teacher blew the whistle we all went towards the entrance and lined up, and Elizabeth was standing behind me. She began to play with my long black hair and we waited patiently until the teacher signaled us to begin walking. When the teacher signaled us, we began walking but Elizabeth wouldn’t let go of my hair, and I told her to let go but she wouldn’t so I turn around and yank my hair out her hands when I noticed her hands were all black covered in tar. It appears that because the day was so hot the tar on the cracks of the cement had began to melt and I guess she picked some up and decided to put it in my hair. I alerted my teacher and she got dismissed from school for about 3 days. But here’s the worst part my mom had to take me to the hair salon so they could try and fix it but nothing could be done. They had to cut all of my hair off. I came out the salon with a mushroom haircut, and I looked like a boy. The funniest part out of this whole experience was that my brother at the time had really long hair too and so people who would see us then after the incident would think that I was the boy and my brother was the girl. :)
Similarly to Hamlet, I’ve experienced a time in which close relatives plotted against me. Personally, it’s complicated to realize that someone whom is close to you would intentionally harm you in any way or betray you; this be the case in my situation. Growing up, I spent most of my time socializing with my older cousins. I always spoke about my dreams of being a forensic scientist and although I thought they were happy for me, I now realize they tried to destroy those dreams. As mediocre as it may seem, they planted images in my head of my failure and incompetence towards that field of study. Over time, I started doubting my capabilities and decided that pursuing that career wasn’t in my best interest. Thankfully for Hamlet, he caught on to what was happening and decided to stop the King. In the play, the King notices Hamlets change in behavior due to his brother’s death. He refers to Hamlets mourning as “unmanly behavior,” and justifies this by saying everyone dies eventually. With Hamlet being prince, he shouldn’t mourn for an extended period of time. Cleverly, Hamlet devised a plan so he could expose his uncle (now his father). He decides to put on a play which will be about his family.
First off, I have to say that the last line of Stephanie's post was amusing!
Unfortunately for this assignment, unlike everyone else's posts, mine will be a total work of fiction. To the best of my knowledge, nobody ever purposefully plotted against me; although many people have disliked me for being unique. ---------------------------------- Background
I got my inspiration for my story from a video game called "Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness." In the game, you play as an heroic trainer battling the Cipher Administration. Cipher is responsible for creating "Shadow Pokemon" by tainting the hearts of pokemon. They are also responsible for filling the Orre region with corruption.
*Relates quite well to Hamlet doesn't it?*
If anyone has clarifications about my story (specifically references to pokemon) you can ask me about them online or in person.
P.S. To keep the story short, I'm going to focus primarily on one of the main bosses in this game.
The story is divided into three parts: Pre-plotting, Plotting phase, Post-plotting.
Hope you all enjoy the story! ___________________________________
Title: Love less than Lovrina
Part one- Friends to Foes
Kyle, our aspiring young pokemon trainer, had been gaining lots of keen insight about the world of pokemon (and proper grammar) from school. Kyle was really good friends with a girl named Lovrina. They did lots of cool things together like train their pokemon, have picnics, and play sports. However, this did not last at all.
A mysterious group of individuals called Cipher appeared at the school talking about recruiting students for a special project involving pokemon. The details were a bit sketchy, but Lovrina was entranced by the idea. She signed up for the project, whereas Kyle was too skeptic to give thought to the idea.
For the next couple of weeks, Lovrina and Kyle had been quite distant. They would see each other after school, and instead of having a pokemon battle, Lovrina would just say she had things to do. This worried Kyle, as he was unaware of what Lovrina was so engrossed in that she didn't even have time for fun.
About a month later, Cipher returned the students who signed up to the school for a culminating celebration. Lovrina was beaming when she received her certificate for helping Cipher out with their mysterious project. Kyle had been happy for her, but he had an ominous feeling within. In spite of her smile, he felt that Lovrina had been working on a project far from the righteous praise it got from everybody.
Later that night, Kyle questioned Lovrina about her experience with Cipher. She stonewalled him and insisted that it was a fairweather experience, and that nothing bad could result from it. She also said that she had to go home and prepare for school tomorrow. Kyle bid goodbye to Lovrina and she went on her way. However, Kyle wasn't satisfied. He followed Lovrina ever so closely so not to arouse suspicion. When she finally stopped, she was at a darkened lab in the middle of a desolate area. Lovrina was talking to another guy who had his face cloaked, so Kyle couldn't see it. They were having a discussion about shadow pokemon. Shadow pokemon as Kyle had learned in school, were anything but good. At that exact instant, Kyle stepped on a tree branch, and it snapped loudly.
The snapping sound diverted the gaze of Lovrina to the tree in which Kyle was standing behind. Kyle came from behind the tree and demanded to know what was going on. Lovrina answered him with a malicious chuckle. "I'm helping Cipher out with their plan Kyle," she said. Kyle was completely infuriated that Cipher was creating shadow pokemon. "How could you do such a horrible thing?" Kyle asked. She just laughed. Kyle was astonished at her attitude. "What happened to the Lovrina I used to know?" Kyle asked wistfully. "The Lovrina you knew is gone, and she will never return," she said firmly. "If that's the case, then we can't be friends anymore," Kyle said sadly. She just laughed again. "I'm afraid I can't let you succeed in what you're planning," Kyle said fiercely. "As if you're actually strong enough to stop it," Lovrina responded smugly. She stepped forward and challenged Kyle to a pokemon battle at that instant to stop him from going any further.
During the battle, Kyle noticed that Lovrina's pokemon had gotten a lot stronger in a short amount of time. After Kyle's Jolteon used thundershock to knock out Luvdisc, Lovrina looked at Kyle with a wicked grin on her face. "You won't be beating this one!" she exclaimed as she hurled the poke-ball onto the battlefield. A Delcatty popped out of the poke-ball, but there was something very odd about it. It was cloaked in a purple glow, and it looked ready to not only charge at Jolteon but at Kyle as well! It was a shadow pokemon. Lovrina pitched it into the battle to end Kyle's meddling pursuits once and for all.
Unknown to Lovrina, Kyle learned how to save shadow pokemon from the hands of criminals. He knew that you needed the snag machine, which converts regular poke-balls into snag balls. Snag balls can only be used to steal an opponents' shadow pokemon for purposes of rescuing them. However, Kyle didn't have the snag machine, so he had to defeat the Delcatty and save it later. Lovrina called for Delcatty to use Shadow Rush, a move only known by shadow pokemon. Delcatty charged at Jolteon with wicked speed, but Jolteon immobilized it with thundershock. "Finish it with Pin Missile!" Kyle said to Jolteon. Delcatty was defeated after the painful series of blows.
"What on earth?! How could you be strong?!" Lovrina exclaimed as she hung her head down in shame. Kyle had won this battle, but he wasn't happy to see Lovrina on the side of injustice. Lovrina regained her composure and stared at me. "You may have so beaten me this time, but I will oh so get you Kyle! Mark my words!" Lovrina said maliciously before fleeing into the shadows of the lab.
After our mind-blowing battle, Kyle retreated back to home in hope of thwarting Cipher's plans and to be prepared for Lovrina seeking revenge. Kyle felt immensely hurt that his former friend would involve herself with such shady characters. He felt betrayed that Lovrina would break the bond between them so abruptly. Moreover, he felt betrayed that Lovrina would raise a battle against him out of anger considering their friendship. While Kyle had no immediate compulsion to rescue Lovrina, he kept their former friendship in mind in case he wanted to repair it.
After Kyle had found the snag machine in his father's lab, he equipped it on, and hoped it would aide him greatly in his endeavor. Kyle walked outside, and found that a poke-ball rested by the entrance to the lab. Suspecting a trap, Kyle kept walking past the poke-ball. However, unknown to Kyle, the poke-ball was empty, and the pokemon that was in it is lurking behind the trees outside the lab's perimeter. Kyle approached the exit to the lab grounds when a Weezing appeared out of nowhere and emitted a thick smokescreen. Kyle heard the sound of something ripping and noticed that the snag machine was gone! Kyle looked around for the culprit, and recognized her by the laughter coming out of her mouth. Lovrina had indeed returned for revenge. She had stolen the snag machine, and was now fleeing the area. Kyle gave chase to retrieve the snag machine as it was the only thing capable of thwarting Cipher's plans.
Lovrina fled into the Cipher Lab, which was the building Kyle saw her flee into at the end of their last encounter. She scurried around the lab until she arrived at an elevator. She waved an ID card in front of the scanner and was off. Kyle could not continue pursuit without an ID card, and was determined to stop Lovrina's plans. Kyle decided to scour the lab to see if there was a spare ID card lying around. However, Kyle did not know that Lovrina had Cipher Peons at her beck and call. The Cipher Peons were trainers whose job was to stop anyone meddling in Cipher's affairs; namely Kyle. The Cipher Peons were a clever bunch because they didn't stand around waiting for intruders, but instead dropped down from the ceiling to surpirse opponents.
Kyle was exploring the lab until he found an elevator that didn't require an ID card. Before he could get on it, Cipher Peon Vana dropped down and boomed "No entry beyond this point!" Kyle and Vana had a quick bout, with it ending in Vana's defeat. "Yeah, Think you're tough?" she exclaimed. "You're gonna get it for this!" she exclaimed once more before disappearing down the corridor.
As Kyle rode the elevator, he spotted a meeting room with many disorganized items, and wondered if there was a spare ID card in there. After getting off the elevator, Kyle approached the meeting room only to be stopped by Cipher Peon Tania, who had little patience for mischief makers. "Mischievious little imp," she stated before our battle commenced. The battle was swift and sure, and Tania was defeated. "Your mischief is going overboard!" she exclaimed before disappearing down the hallway. Kyle proceeded into the meeting room where he found a spare ID card underneath the water cooler cups. Kyle now resumed his pursuit of Lovrina.
After getting off the elevator with the ID card, Kyle was in for an unexpected surprise. Lovrina and the guy she had been talking to during the first encounter at the lab were standing side by side. Lovrina laughed wickedly. "You look surprised. Didn't anyone tell you I was in charge here?" she said. She turned to the guy next to her, who happened to be a Cipher Peon. "Naps, will you oh so dispatch this little boy so that he doesn't interfere lots?" she said. Cipher Peon Naps stepped forward, and challenged me to a battle.
Surprisingly, Naps was easier to defeat than Lovrina, and he wasn't too happy with the result. Lovrina looked at him furiously. "Oh Naps, you made a boo-boo again! I have to punish you lots!" she exclaimed before turning to face me. "I guess a little hurt can be oh so persuasive!" she said before we began our rematch.
Lovrina hadn't had time to improve much, so her team was pretty much lackluster like before. Lovrina again whipped out her shadow Delcatty in hopes of ending the battle quickly. It still was weaker than Jolteon. After the battle, Lovrina held her head down in defeat once more. "I'll be oh so back for you!" she said as she fled out of the lab. She had left the snag machine behind, and Kyle reclaimed it to stop Cipher's plans.
About 3 months later after reclaiming the snag machine from Cipher Admin Lovrina (as she was called), Kyle had circled around Orre and saved loads of shadow pokemon, and dismantled many of Cipher's fortresses including a shadow pokemon factory. He just had one stronghold to take down: Citadark Isle.
Kyle arrived on Citadark Isle shortly after hearing about it. He heard about it from the Cipher head himself after dismantling the shadow pokemon factory. He ventured out to put Cipher's plans to rest once and for all. However, unknown to Kyle, he was in for a grand surprise...
When Kyle first entered the building on the Isle, he had to fight countless trainers to get to the elevator in the center of the room. The elevator led further into the complex, and to stopping the shadow pokemon plan from succeeding. When Kyle arrived at the elevator, that's when the surprise appeared.
Cipher Admin Lovrina was in no mood for games now. She arrived off the elevator and confronted me harshly. "Well, you may have defeated me twice, but it's okay." she said calmly. "Why is it okay that I beat you twice Lovrina?" Kyle asked quizzically. "Because I'm going to defeat yoy once and for all little boy," she responded firmly. With that, the final battle commenced.
Lovrina was kicking it into overdrive now, and she wasn't letting up. Her team was at its strongest. She had fully evolved forms of her pokemon with powerful attacks. Additionally, she had two shadow pokemon to contend with this time around: an Altaria and a Farfetch'd. She proved to be a much more formidable opponent than in the past. However, the battle still ended in her defeat, and with Kyle rescuing the shadow pokemon.
After Lovrina's crushing defeat, she hung her head in shame again. "Oh boo! Now look what you've done!" she exclaimed. "I can't go back to Cipher because the Cipher head will be furious with me," she said. Kyle had suggested that they repair their friendship that had been almost lost. However, Lovrina had other plans. "I do oh so regret having met you in the first place," she said with a glare before fleeing Citadark Isle to be never seen again...until much later. ----------------------------------- Sadly, Lovrina and Kyle's former friendship is lost forever with no hope of being repaired. ~K*.
Woah. Ok, let's see...Jeriel, I don't think somebody is always trying to bring you down. I think so much of it depends on your point of view. Rose colored glasses, my man, that's what you need. That, and spell check.
Stephanie, I relate WAY too well to your story. My hair falls into three categories: mushroom, triangle, or in-between and once, just once, when I turned 25, I shaved my entire scalp and walked around the streets of Boston (grad school) as an ugly, bald man. .Big regrets there and no one to blame but myself. You were an innocent victim!
Jennifer, I am glad their mousetrap didn't get you and wah ha ha, you are succeeding in ways that might make their jealousy arise...so...watch your back!
I had to really go deep and way back in the past to remember a time when somebody tried purposely to plot against me. In sixth grade it started out with my elementary friend and me hanging out together. It then became five of us together in a group. I would not say that we were bad but we were also not that good either. Let me just put it this way in elementary I was one of the good smart kids, no complaints, but once I reached in sixth grade I got myself into some trouble and there was a whole lot of complaints, my parents having to come up, and me flunking test. In our group I found out one of the girls was talking crap behind my back to the others, telling them things that were not even true. She tried to break the crew away from me, trying to end my friendship with the crew. When she did that I felt like I was backstabbed, I was angry, upset and betrayed because I was one of them who accept her in our group and she go do something like that to me and had the nerves to step up to me and argue with me. I felt like fighting with her and stomping on her. I was not taking that from her so we stopped talking and if she had said one crap to me it would have been crazy between her and me.
i cant remember a lot of times that people were plotting against me other than in middle school. i was very different from myself now when i was in middle school. i was somewhere around 5 ft tall and dedicated to my school work. i was constantly the archetype of the "little nerd" who everyone would want to be around just because of my privalages that came with my hard work. their jealousy and envy caused them to point out all of my smallest flaws, and in a way effected me. this caused me to change from th extremely hard working person that i was into someone who wants to get the work done quick and then have fun. my mom tells me that all the times, she sees my averages at school which are never below a 90% and then tells me "Now imagine if you tried...it'd be scary Matt." i think about that a lot and want to change my ways. i just need to transition back and get my priorities straight, because experience has shown, that when i work hard, i can have and do whatever i want.
Matthew, It's important to have fun too. The hardest part of growing up is learning to be responsible about managing your time. There *is* time for all things, fun, work, and even some unplanned chaos, but all things in moderation. One of the best assignments I had in college was to read Benjamin Franklin's autobiography. At the time, I thought I would die of boredom, but the book and his time management skills have stayed with me for years. I remember saying a similar thing to you in the 10th grade, you looked up and said "that's just what my mom says." I didn't feel too happy that day as the last thing a teacher wants to be is an echo of a parent. Yet, so often we are.

Background

Part two- The plotting thickens
Part three- Aura of a new future
-----------------------------------
Sadly, Lovrina and Kyle's former friendship is lost forever with no hope of being repaired. ~K*.
Kyle, you are hysterically creative and witty. I enjoyed the fictional account of a murky friendship gone astray.
Matthew,
It's important to have fun too.
